Dr. Anne Kristiina Vehmas is a board-certified Neurologist with 15 years of experience in neurology. She worked in the USA working at Johns Hopkins Hospital and University for 5 years focusing on neurodegenerative diseases (especially Alzheimer’s disease).

Dr. Anne Kristiina Vehmas has a wide experience with a variety of neurological patients, diagnosing, treating, and rehabilitating them. She initiated a multi-dimensional approach in rehabilitation of brain injuries in 2012 using music, dance, and other senses along with advanced physical therapy.

She is especially interested in the prevention of neurodegeneration and rehabilitation after stroke, brain- and spine injuries, multiple sclerosis, and Parkinson’s disease.

Moreover, Dr Anne has vast experience using Botox® in treating dystonia, spasticity, and migraine. This minimally invasive treatment proved to be successful and has helped to improve the symptoms of her patients to a good extent.

Dr. Anne was awarded from Johns Hopkins University the award of Excellence in Basic Research in Pathology.

On the academic level, she assisted in many pieces of research regarding Inflammation and neurodegeneration markers in AD (Alzheimer’s Disease), COX-2 in the mouse model of AD, and Immunization in AD.

She also published several studies and scientific articles regarding Carotid artery stenting, Cyclo-oxygenase-2 in AD, Immune Reactive Cells in Senile Plaques, and Cognitive Decline in AD, Activated Microglia Increases in Aging and Alzheimer’s Disease in Human Cerebral Cortex.
